The Government is Collapsing But You Still Have to Stay LatE
Acrylic on 16” × 20” canvas with wire intended to be hung without frame.
The painting shows a solitary man lit by the glow of three computer screens, at work inside a building where every surrounding office has gone dark. From the sidewalk below, the viewer looks up, separated from the man by the cold blue night and the quiet indifference of the city.
One can’t help but wonder whether, as he continues to work into the night, if the thought ever crosses his mind that the government is collapsing, but he still has to stay late.
